Revelation 18:9, 11
The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning …. And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore:

Have you noticed the boundless sense of power and invincibility many leaders on the world’s stage project today? Even a cursory glance at our globes shakers and movers in the West, East and the Middle East as well as in the emerging economies will readily confirm this truth.

Here the Bible reveals that the collapse of the Babylonian system in all its forms as the Second Coming draws near will deal a devastating blow to the very core of their confidence.

When Babylon falls, the arrogance of the world’s political leaders will soon evaporate into thin air. Likewise, renowned entrepreneurs across the globe will be left stranded, clueless and bereft. Their facade of power will crumble like a deck of cards.

No wonder Jesus instructs us not to store up for ourselves treasures in this earthly Babylonian system (Mat 6:19). The Bible also says, “Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Tim 6:17).

Blessed are those who put their trust and treasures in the living God. That is the only secure investment in the whole wide world.
