Revelation 19:1-2
After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and honour and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”
The dramatic destruction of the evil religious and political Babylonian system triggers superlative praise in heaven. Note the large number of praisers and the loudness of the vocal praise.
We too must ascribe abundant praise to the Lord for the awesome victories He brings in our lives. Some situations call for Shabach, the shout of praise rather than muted praise (see Ps 47:1). Let His praise not complaints be continually in your mouth (Ps 34:1).
In context, the heavenly worshippers are thankful for God’s truthful and righteous justice. Beloved, in every case and circumstance, rest assured that God’s judgment is true and fair. I’ve heard people concern themselves with how God will deal with certain “complicated” moral and ethical cases. Such stress is unnecessary, beloved.
In His infinite love, knowledge, power and wisdom, God’s justice is perfectly reliable. He will not condemn anyone unjustly. Neither will He justify anyone erroneously. Nor will He overlook due rewards and recompense. It’s time for a new Hallelujah!
