Revelation 22:7
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

As we celebrate the First Advent of Christ at Christmas, let us not forget the Second Advent, beloved. The Christmas trees, mistletoes, gifts, bright lights, parties and banquets must not lull us into neglecting the Parousia.

In this Sixth Beatitude of the Revelation, we are reminded of the imminence of the Lord’s Return. Beloved, wise Christians live with the presupposition that Jesus Return is sooner than later.
“This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven (Act 1:11).

Christmas looks back and celebrates the literal, visible First Coming of Christ into the world. The Parousia looks forward likewise to the literal and visible Second Coming of Christ to this lost world. Our reminisces of the realtime story of the Nativity should prod us to anticipate the imminent Return of our Redeemer in power and glory. Merry Christmas!
