Revelation 22:2
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Although this text is eschatological, the Bible reveals that children of God can begin to enjoy abundant life in the present by faith (John 10:10). Like our Heavenly Father, by faith we call things that are not as though they are (Rom 4:17).

First, note that in the middle of our heavenly destiny lies the River of Life, comprising pure, crystal-clear water, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Rev 22:1). God is our Source! May you henceforth enjoy the the Lord our Shepherd’s pure provision (Ps 23:1). Let the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorrow be your portion (Pro 10:22). Let God supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Phi 4:19).

Second, note that the Tree of Life restored in the eschaton bears 12 different types of fruit. That speaks of the variety of blessings God has in store for us. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus who has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places (Ep. 1:3)!

Indeed, we are recipients of the manifold wisdom of God (Ep 3:10) and stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Pet 4:10). Hallelujah! Your life shall be full of pleasant surprises. Monotony is not your portion. Fresh expressions of the blessing, grace and wisdom of God shall manifest in and through your life this coming year.

Third, note the regularity of the fruit from the Tree of Life. Let us believe God for perennial favour, beloved–month after month, year after year. May you be like a tree planted by the streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf shall not wither (Ps 1:3). Erratic prosperity shall not be your portion! As you abide in the Vine, you shall be continually fruitful (John 15:5).

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life (Ps 23:6). The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning (Lam 3:22-23). Let currents of manifold divine favour ever flow in and through your life, family, ministry and business all year round. God bless your year!
