But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth…
The Lord Jesus’ point here was that the Samaritan Woman was witnessing the unfolding of God’s new spiritual economy right before her eyes. This was a call for her to wake up to the marvellous opportunity that confronted her. It was a call for her to fully embrace this new season and not look backward or procrastinate.
It’s our call too today, beloved! We must recognise the amazing grace Jesus’ finished work of Calvary accorded us. Now is the time to worship the Father in Spirit and Truth. There’s no better season than now.
Many believers live in some kind of spiritual daze. Some are stuck in the past. Others are overly obsessed with the future. They live as though the whistle to start “the game” has not yet been blown. They keep procrastinating. They keep deferring their best efforts to the future. Well, the game is on, beloved!
Young people must not wait until they are older. The poor must not wait until they are richer. Singles must not wait till they are married. New believers must not dilly-dally. Do all you can for God’s glory now. Pray, fast, give, tithe, study the Word, fellowship, meditate, witness, worship–carpe diem, seize the day!
