Acts 19:21
When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

Making decisions based purely on our flesh has at least two problems. One is our ignorance of the blind spots hidden to our natural perception. Another is our failure to capitalise on our core nature as spirit-beings.

If we want to experience the kind of kingdom impact the apostles had, we have to learn their skills. This particular skill does not exclude the role of our minds. Rather, it’s all about subjecting our renewed minds to the control and influence of the Holy Spirit.

Beloved, a sanctified intelligence and a deep spirituality are not inherently incompatible. In fact, the Bible teaches that when we shun the corrupt world’s attempts to shape our thinking and are transformed by the renewing of our minds, we get to know the will of God (Rom 12:2). God’s thoughts and ours then agree.

Do you have big dreams, dear friend? Do you have great expectations? Do you have a creative mind? Well, being a child of God does not stop you! It just gives you a supernatural edge. Take full advantage, will you?
