Ephesians 3:19
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

This part of the apostolic prayer is quite audacious, beloved. Firstly, it suggests that we can know the unknowable love of Christ! Jesus’ love is of such a magnitude that it defies all logic and surpasses all understanding. It’s length, breadth, height and depth are beyond words. Yet by the Spirit we can know it.

It’s a love that knows no distance too far to save the furthest sinner. It is wide enough to embrace folks from every race, tongue and walk of life. Its height raises the humblest penitent to sit with Christ in heavenly places. Its depth is good enough to make the feeblest saint rooted and immovable in the Lord. May that be your portion!

Secondly, this prayer is audacious because it suggests that we can be filled with all the fullness of God! But such is the wonder of the wisdom of God. Indeed, God can fill our whole being through and through. We can let the Spirit own and control everything about us. Through the Spirit we can love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30).

When that happens, no challenge is too hard, no mountain is too high and no problem is unsolvable. Our impact for the Lord is immeasurable. Our victory is indisputable. In short, God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). That is why we should earnestly desire His fullness–withholding nothing!
