Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Previously we learnt that the Holy Spirit produces a Christlike character in our lives through the fruit of the Spirit. Now we learn that the Spirit empowers us to be effective witnesses for Christ locally, regionally and globally.
Beloved, it is anomalous for any believer to lack influence for God. It is unChristian to be silent about our faith. You cannot be a born-again and anointed believer who does not make a difference for Christ in a dark world.
If your faith is not affecting your family, friends, classmates or workmates, something is drastically wrong! We can’t be tasteless salt and lacklustre light (see Mat 5:13-16). It is the Holy Spirit who enables us to represent Christ as ministers of reconciliation in a lost world. Without the Helper, we will misrepresent the Gospel of Christ. God forbid!
