1 Corinthians 12:10b

To another the working of miracles.

The Gift of the Working of Miracles (energēmata dunameōn) is the third of the three spiritual Gifts of Power. The other two are the Gift of Faith and Gifts of Healing which have been discussed already. The Gift of Faith is common to the Healing and Miracles gifts.

By definition, a miracle is an event palpable to the senses, produced for a spiritual purpose by the immediate agency of God. Note that a miracle is not a suspension or violation of natural law, since natural law is in operation at the time of the miracle just as much as before. Moreover, a miracle is not a sudden product of natural agencies but
is the effect of a will outside of nature, that is, the direct will of God. It is something impossible to man, but simple to the omnipotent God.

The following are biblical examples of the Gift of Working of Miracles in operation: the plagues brought upon Egypt (Ex 7-10), the parting of the Red Sea (Ex 14:16), the gushing of water from the rock (Ex 17:5-6), changing water into wine (John 2:1-10), calming the storm (Mat 8:24-27), multiplication of loaves and fish (Mat 14:14-21), raising the dead (John 11, Acts 9:36-42) and casting out evil spirits (Acts 16:16-18).

Let us avail ourselves to be instruments the Holy Spirit can use to confirm the Gospel through signs and wonders (Ac 1:8; Heb 2:4). Let El Shaddai show Himself mighty in our midst, for we serve a miracle-working God!
