John 1:16-17
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The question is, if Jesus is full of Grace and Truth AND He abides in us, how then should we live? Actually, what should fill our hearts and lives as well?

Firstly, our lives must also be full of Grace. As He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Therefore, every true Christian is gracious by nature. Dear Christian, let Christ’s compassion manifest in and through your life. Be kind, tenderhearted, compassionate, forgiving and forbearing toward others (Ephesians 4:32).

No matter how you are treated, refuse to be unkind. Be kind still when others spurn you or turn away from you. Don’t stoop low. Don’t be legalistic. Don’t return evil for evil–that’s not who you are anymore (Rom 12:17)! You are full of grace.

Secondly, as the One who is full of Truth and is the Truth dwells in us, our lives must also be full of truth. Beloved, to be full of truth is different from showing flashes of it here and there. It is, rather all about consistently being truthful, honest and genuine.

For the Bible says, “Therefore, putting away lying, Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbour, for we are members of one another. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers” (Ephesians 4:25, 29). As He is, so are we in this world!
