1 Peter 2:21
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.

In our quest to live for and worship the Father in Spirit and Truth, it is helpful to know that Truth is not just something but Someone–Jesus (John 14:6). Thus, to live in the truth is living in Jesus and following Him in our context today.

Firstly, to follow Jesus is to consciously ACKNOWLEDGE CHRIST’S PRESENCE IN YOUR LIFE. Compare how Paul prays for the Church, “I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…” (Ephesians 3:16-17).

It’s interesting that this prayer is for Christians who already have the Lord Jesus in their hearts. Why? Because it’s quite possible for you and I to live without experiencing and benefitting from the presence of Christ in our lives. Jesus’ anointing and presence within us can be so silent and inactive that it makes no difference to those around us. We can so suppress the power of God within us such that our spirituality is, to all intents and purposes, null and void. It ought not to be so!

Remember that you have were crucified with Christ and it is no longer you who lives, but Christ lives in you, and the life which you now live in the flesh you live by faith in the Son of God, who loved you and gave Himself for you (Gal 2:20). His anointing, wisdom, power, righteousness and authority should be active in your life. The supernatural is over your natural!

Don’t always talk about what you cannot do when the Bible says you can do all things through Christ who lives in you and strengthens you (Phi 4:13). Don’t be intimidated by the kingdom of darkness when God’s Word says greater is He that is within you than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). May your awareness of Christ’s awesome presence within you be stronger than ever!
