Revelation 14:7
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

It’s one thing to know that we must live our lives according to the purposes for which we were created by God, and quite another to know how. In fact, we have no right to determine our life purpose arbitrarily. Our duty is to discover rather than invent the reason for which we live. The only reliable source of this information is the Word of God.

So to start with, you and I were created to worship God. Beloved, so many things are vying for our worship nowadays. Devils, divas, money, our ego, material things, our careers, ministries and our heroes can easily become the object of our worship. Don’t let them!

Our core business is to revere, glorify and worship the true God. Of course, this is quite different from engaging in occasional acts of worship to the Lord. It’s not the same as worshipping God on Sunday and then disgrace His name throughout the week. Rather it’s about seeking to bring God honour in our lives in everything we do.

The first thing you must do every morning is to worship the Father. Isn’t that how the Lord’s Prayer, our model prayer, starts? Besides that, worship must be something we do as a lifestyle. Take time every day to bless the name of the Lord. During the day, schedule moments to just lift up your soul unto the Lord in thanksgiving.

For every breakthrough, ascribe credit to God. For every achievement, honour the Lord. For every windfall, give glory to Jesus. For any applause you may receive, turn it into praise to Yahweh. In word and deed, in thought and work, exalt the name of Jesus. If you fail to do anything else today, don’t fail to magnify the Lord!
