1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honour God with your body.

The only difference between your spiritual gifts and your so-called natural talents is WHEN you receive them. You are born with your natural gifts (talents) but receive your spiritual gifts (charismata) after rebirth. We can therefore say your talents are your prenatal gifts while your charismata are your postnatal gifts. But both sets of gifts (abilities) are from God.

In fact, YOU are a gift of God! You were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). So, even before salvation, you belong to God. How much more are you His after recreation by the blood of the Lamb!

So in a sense, everyone of your gifts is spiritual, because it comes from God, who is Spirit. Therefore use all of your gifts for the glory of God. While it is obvious to many that we must use our spiritual gifts to honour the Lord, we tend to take our so-called natural gifts for granted.

Take time to write down all your gifts today. Think about things you find easy to do and do well. Innumerate all your abilities. What do you excel in? What do people compliment you for? Check whether your Pastor has discerned an ability you were not aware of.

Note that you may not be aware of certain gifts God has given you. Some abilities tend to lie dormant and undetected for life unless the bearer activates them. Pray that you don’t neglect any precious gifting God has endowed you with. Seek to glorify the Lord with all your abilities.
