Mark 4:39
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

When you’re in right standing with God, you have immense authority. You are able to reign in life. Just like Jesus, you can order circumstances to settle down.

It is wonderful to know that when we received Jesus into our lives we also received abundant grace and the gift of righteousness, and therefore reign in life (Romans 5:17). Biblically, there is a direct relationship between dominion (reigning) and righteousness. In other words, the manifestation of the kingdom and the righteousness of God go hand in hand. The righteous reign!

So when you pray, “Thy kingdom come”, you are in part invoking the righteousness of God in your life (Mat 6:10, 33; Rom 5:17, 14:17). And as kingdom righteousness holds sway in your heart and life, your kingdom authority prevails. In short, being in right standing with God (equals righteousness) enables us to reign and rule in life.

That’s why it’s wrong to doubt your state of righteousness in Christ. I often hear Christians say they are not righteous. In heaven, that’s shocking! Don’t you know that when we were born again we were made righteous (2Co 5:21)? Don’t you know that the blood of Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness when we stumble and confess our sin (1 John 1:9)? Denying your righteousness is a satanic trick to make you deny your dominion in and through Christ. Don’t fall for it!

Take your place as the righteous, royal priesthood of Christ today and reign in life. Tell that storm around you to cease. Send that mountain into the sea. Retake your kingdom authority. Rule in the midst of your enemies. Resist the devil and will flee. Reign, righteous one!
