And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
In our foolish pride, we humans often think we can deal with anything. Until fierce storms beyond our experience, capacity and power arise! Let us be honest and humble enough to accept that there are factors and forces around us that are beyond our control.
They may be in our personal lives, families, church, communities and country. Let’s accept that we cannot keep up with all the machinations of the enemy–locally, nationally and globally.
“Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered; let those also who hate Him flee before Him” (Psalm 68:1). Beloved, sometimes that’s the best prayer we can make. Will you let Jesus calm the storms around your personal, family, business and ministry now? Will you let His peace displace the chaos, tumult and uncertainty?
Only Jesus can turn a fierce storm into a great calm. He doesn’t sort of manage the problem, as many of our human solutions tend to do. He doesn’t just ameliorate the problem, or just reduce its intensity. Jesus can totally reverse the situation. He can give you and I a full turnaround. Let God arise!
