Mark 4:39
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Weather experts say that winds play a significant role in determining climate and weather. That means many of the weather patterns we see are the result of the prevailing or local winds around us. That’s why it makes sense that Jesus rebukes the wind before dealing with the waves.

By so doing, He addresses the root cause of the tumult. Beloved, it’s no use moaning about the results without doing anything about the root of the problems. It doesn’t help us to focus on the effects while leaving the cause untouched. Let us address the root causes, the underlying forces in our lives in Jesus’ name.

The Bible says we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, authorities, cosmic powers over this present darkness, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). That means many of the problems that appear natural in our lives actually have supernatural causes. Sometimes we are dealing with supernatural resistance disguised as a natural phenomenon. Praise God that we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices (2Co 2:11)!

Praise God that we have been given authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt us in Jesus’ mighty name (Luke 10:19). Did you notice that our authority in the name of Jesus covers all the power of the enemy? Don’t underestimate the authority you and I have in the name of Jesus. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds, hallelujah! See 2Co 10:4. Let us utilise them today!

In the name of Jesus we rebuke every hidden force affecting our personal and corporate lives today. In the name of Jesus we take authority over every evil spiritual force causing confusion, delay, conflict or lack in our lives, families, finances, business, ministry, career, church and country!
