2 Corinthians 10:4-5
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Beloved, the Bible clearly teaches that the Christian life is not just a journey or race, but also a fight. We are called to fight the good fight of faith from the day we are born again till the end (1 Tim 6:12). We must not imagine that it’s a stroll in the park!

The Word of God warns us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Pet 5:8). Don’t be deceived, there certainly is spiritual opposition to your progress, prosperity and peace in Christ. That’s why we must be good soldiers of the Cross (2 Tim 2:3).

Now good soldiers must also have good weapons. Good News is that we do! Now let’s observe three crucial facts about our weapons. Firstly, the Bible says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (of the flesh). They are spiritual. This is where many believers miss it. They try to combat the enemy using worldly, carnal weaponry. We shouldn’t beloved!

Think about it. What means are you using today to deal with life’s challenges? Are you sure you’re not resorting to carnal methods to combat spiritual problems? Remember that many so-called natural problems have supernatural roots.

Secondly, observe that our spiritual weapons are mighty through God. You and I must be convinced in our hearts that our spiritual weapons are effective against Satan. Our weapons are not weak against demonic forces. It’s our conviction and confidence that tends to be weak. But that is a changing forthwith. We must rise up as a great lion and resist the devil and he will flee (see Num 23:24, Jam 4:7). Meditate on this truth and confess it until it reverberates in your heart.

Thirdly, observe that our spiritual weapons are mighty THROUGH GOD, not by themselves. The power of God amplifies the impact of our weapons when we wield them by faith. They are able to dismantle destructive mindsets in our loved ones’ lives. Through the Spirit, our weapons can pull down strongholds of unbelief, defeat and despair in our and others’ lives. Use them!
