Psalm 133:1
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Given the awesome power of fellowship, we must not be surprised that the evil one will do his utmost to paint a negative picture of the church. As a rule, the wicked liar distorts the value of godly fellowship.

Sometimes the enemy exaggerates the problems we encounter among the saints. The mistakes, lies and conflicts that often rear their ugly heads in our churches tend to be given maximum exposure. Consequently, even good Christians begin to confess negative things about the nature and worth of church life. Their appreciation of the power of fellowship is then diminished. God forbid!

Now, whose judgment we recognise in our lives is very critical. We must not let the world or the devil define what’s good and what isn’t. If no other reason for appreciating fellowship existed, the fact that God says it is good is enough! We must not contradict the Word of God. We must not despise what God approves.

Observe that God’s Word here further qualifies what is good and pleasant. It’s not just being together, but dwelling together in unity. Beloved, it’s one thing to be with others in one space and quite another to do so in ONE ACCORD. Let us learn how to truly fellowship with oneness of heart and spirit. Let us do our best to promote the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ep 4:3). Let us enjoy the fruits of agreeing to agree.
