Colossians 2:3
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Like a rich gold mine, Christ’s treasures are hidden–not from us, but FOR us! Why “hidden”? Firstly because you have to SEARCH for them. Although there is no question of the existence of these treasures, yet we have to be willing to find them–to dig deeper as it were. We have to invest time and effort to drill down and mine the infinite reserves of spiritual riches in the Spirit.

So, much of our primary business is about tapping into Christ’s riches of wisdom and knowledge in the spiritual realm (Ep 1:3). Jesus says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Mat 7:7).

That is why spiritual disciplines are so powerful. Prayer, study, fasting, meditation, confession, celebration, solitude, fellowship and other spiritual disciplines are means of activating the treasures of Christ in the spiritual realm. Make time to seek the face of the Lord every day.

Secondly, the hiddenness of these treasures implies their MYSTERY. In other words, we can never exhaust the wisdom and knowledge of Christ in His presence. That also means we cannot afford to be complacent. Neither should we become too familiar with the things of God.

Many Christians erroneously think they know all about the Christian life and now rest on their laurels. That’s not your portion! We must not fool ourselves that we have experienced all that our Lord has to offer! Don’t ever lose your sense of wonder. Our Lord has much more in store for you than you’ll ever know. Tap into His infinite treasures everyday.
