Acts 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
Immediately after the Early Church’s awesome encounter with the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter gained uncommon clarity about what had just happened. (That is one of the most wonderful byproducts of the anointing, by the way). He was able to interpret with precise relevance the unfolding phenomenon before everyone’s eyes. Under the anointing of the Spirit, he declared, “But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel” (Acts 2:16).
By so doing, the apostle rightly defined WHEN, in God’s calendar, the dispensation of the Last Days started. That marvellous Season (called the Last Days) had just begun on the Day of Pentecost. Praise God we are STILL living in that Season-when God’s promise to lavish His Spirit upon all flesh still applies! Beloveds, this truth is more profound than most believers today realise. In short it means the opportunity for divine empowerment is still available for all and sundry. We don’t have to lead powerless lives. We don’t have to cope on our own. We don’t have to strive through human energy to accomplish our Master’s mission. The door is still open. This is the BEST time to be alive! Only if we will take advantage of God’s glorious spiritual provision. Will you?
What is equally remarkable is the truth about WHO is eligible for the Holy Spirit’s anointing: ALL FLESH. That means everyone-you and I included. It means every human being without exception. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is not reserved for preachers only. It is not only for adults. Neither is it age-specific. It’s not even denominational. That means you don’t have to hail from a certain background to enjoy the fullness of the Spirit. You and I just have to believe and be hungry for it. I believe and I’m hungry for more! How about you?
Don’t believe those devilish lies about the expiry of this promise! Don’t entertain doubts about your eligibility. Don’t depend on yesterday’s anointing. Get some fresh Fire. This is the time for you and I to receive God’s favour. Now is the right time and we are the right people. This is your day!
