After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John 19:28-30

Right from the onset of His earthly ministry, JESUS had a very clear sense of mission. He came to seek and to save the lost. He came to redeem us from the slave market of sin. He came to redeem us from the curse of the law. HE bought us with His precious blood. Our redemption was paid for in full. That is why Jesus declared on Calvary, “It is finished!”

Jesus did not pay a DEPOSIT for your redemption. Your redemption is not in instalments! For instance, somebody wise said if you really want to know who owns your house, try not paying your mortgage-your house will be repossessed. Likewise, if your car is on HP, don’t relax or boast too much-it can be repossessed. But when it’s fully paid for, you’ve nothing to worry about.

Thank God our redemption is PAID FOR IN FULL. No devil can repossess your life. You are safe in the hollow of His hands whatever may betide you. Nobody can snatch you out of His mighty hand (John 10:28-30). When the Son sets you free, you are free indeed (John 8:36). Your forgiveness is not partial. God remembers your sins no more (Hebrews 8:12). He is able to save to the uttermost those who believe in Him (Hebrews 7:25). Jesus is the founder and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). As long as you are truly in Christ Jesus, there is no condemnation whatsoever for you (Romans 8:1). Your heavenly destination is not in doubt.

Don’t live like heaven is just a possibility or even just a probability. Serve the Lord with full assurance. Enter into His presence with joy and boldness. Pray from such a conviction and knowledge of what the Lord has done for you. Share such Good News with others.
