So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. John 19:30

The concept of the finished work of Jesus is one of the most powerful truths in the New Covenant. It has huge implications for every believer. Living your life with a fuller awareness of this truth will boost your faith, authority and testimony astronomically. Tragically, many believers never come to the place of truly enjoying the fruits of what our Lord accomplished for us on the Cross. That’s why in this series we would like to learn how to bank on this amazing truth.

In our context, to “bank on” the finished work of Christ means to cash in on, to rely on, depend on and to have every confidence in what Jesus has already accomplished for us on Calvary. God’s will is for all His children to practically enjoy and experience the finished work of Jesus in our everyday lives. Now today, let us explore how we can do that in 1 of 4 ways.

Here it is: Approach the throne of Grace with the boldness of one who has been totally pardoned. Accept the fact that there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1). We have been justified (declared not guilty) by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ and we have peace with God (Rom 5:1). He that knew no sin was made sin so that we would become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Your sins He remembers no more. God is not in the blaming business. God is not mad at you. Neither is He critical of you. He loves you more than you’ll ever know. He paid the full price for your forgiveness and justification.

Unlike many religious Christians, we must not approach God from a sin-conscious point of view. We must learn to see ourselves as God sees us-His pardoned, righteous, beloved children. Stop praying tentatively. Worship the Lord with a sense of worthiness. Enter His presence with a sense of joy and acceptance. Approach the throne of grace with boldness. Expect Him to answer you. He loves you!
