And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them. Deuteronomy 28:13
Previously we learned that every human being in general and every child of God in particular, is created in the image of God. So you are not an ANIMAL! You’re not a victim of your animal instincts. You belong to the God-class. So you and I must walk worthy of who we truly are-as creative, authoritative, spiritual beings that also live in “earth suits”.
The second false identity we must all overcome concerns status. Dear child of God, you are not BACKWARD! So many good Christians have the false belief that they are inferior to other people on account of race, colour, culture, class, geography, age, gender or other mythical yardstick. The Bible says God made all humans of “one blood” (Acts 17:26).
Do not accept stereotypes uninformed people peddle around. Don’t buy into the prejudices held by misguided folks. Don’t embrace the lies of the evil one about your identity. You are exactly whom God says you are. You are blessed and not cursed, head and not tail, first and not last, above only and never below. You are a chosen generation, a holy nation, a royal priesthood and a peculiar people in Christ. You are seated with Christ in heavenly realms.
Every human being is precious in God’s sight. Each one of us has infinite potential. Meditate on this biblical truth until it manifests in your life consistently. Start thinking like the head rather than the tail. Start setting the pace in terms of initiative, goodness, innovation, creativity and progress. You see, tail-minded people pull everybody backwards! An inferiority complex drives people to do all sorts of crazy things. That is not your portion. Just live according to your true nature in Christ.
