For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT

NOWADAYS sinners and saints alike realise the importance of knowing one’s purpose. But that’s where the similarity ends! Whereas the typical worldling thinks of purpose purely in terms of personal choice, to the believer it’s a totally different story.

The typical unbeliever simply DECIDES what he wants to do with his life. He does that because the Self (or Satan) is on the throne of his life. He thinks his life is his to live as he pleases. On the other hand, the informed believer DISCOVERS her life purpose.

Sinners largely just consider their own personal interests. Saints prioritise God’s will. They do so because Jesus is the Lord of their lives. God’s will is paramount in their visions, missions and values. You see, beloveds, the fundamental difference between saved and unsaved folks is who sits on the throne of their hearts. Just that. If you’re still doing exactly what you want, you’ve not yet started living as you should.

Have you discovered your true purpose yet, dear friend? Are you walking in the good works God predestined you to walk in? If so, keep on walking right. If not, make things right with God. Get pastoral help. Pray earnestly. Surrender to the Lordship of Christ. Invite His will to prevail in your life. God bless you!
