1 Corinthians 2:14
But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

Previously we learned that knowing God accurately is not automatic for all believers. You can be in the church for many years and still know very little or nothing about the true nature of God and His ways. You can even know the Scriptures in and out and still not really know God.

In fact, the most dangerous people in the world are religious people who do not really know God. They do more harm than good. Saul of Tarsus was a good example. So were the religious Jews who opposed the ministry of Jesus in the first century. They thought they knew the Scriptures but completely missed the central character (Christ) in every book of the Bible (see John 5:39).

We all need the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to help us know God better. The word of God also says,
“For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God” (1Co 2:11).

God is unknowable purely through our physical senses. The Bible says this is due to the fact that the carnal person is incapable of perceiving spiritual realities (1Co 2:14). Note also that God is Spirit and those who desire to connect with Him can only do so in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). Your spirit man must be enlightened by the Holy Spirit.

That may be the best prayer you can make for yourself and your loved ones. It will make all the difference. Your worship, wellbeing and work will change dramatically when you know who you believe. Your faith will rise. Your lifestyle will shape up. Your relationships will improve. You’ll be a history maker.
