TITLE:  KEY TO YOUTHFUL VICTORY

TEXT:  Psalm 119:9

How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.

INTRODUCTION

Sometimes the pressures and the incredible numbers of moral failures around us give the impression that living right is fighting a losing battle! However, this week we consider one effective key to victory in a basically corrupt society.

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION & REFLECTION

1. Why does our text single out young people? [Give at least THREE reasons]

2. What is the KEY to living a life of purity?

3. Does the same key apply to older adults? Why?

4. Is there a difference between being religious and living according to God’s word? Please explain.

5. Is there a difference also between being familiar with the Bible and actually living by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Mat 4:4)? Please explain.

6. What other “authorities” compete for the control of our lives? That is, what else are we tempted to live according to?

7. Is it always easy or popular to pattern your life according to the Bible? Please explain.

8. What should be the source of wisdom for guidance, counsel and lifestyle? Do YOU always use Scripture to advise others and to make decisions? [Honestly!]

9. How can we ensure we know the relevant Scripture for every challenge we face? See Psalm 119:11; John 14:26; 16:13.

10. How beneficial is it for one to live a righteous life? See Psalm 112:1-4. [Cite FOUR benefits]
