2 Samuel 6:12
Now King David was told, “The LORD has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went down and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing.

In today’s text, we witness the profound impact of God’s presence on Obed-Edom’s household. The Ark of God brought blessings beyond measure, transforming lives and circumstances. Similarly, when we invite God into the centre of our lives, joy follows. There are blessings that accompany the presence of God in our lives (see Psalm 16:11). This also has application in terms of church-attendance, for Jesus says whenever His people gather even in small numbers, His presence is assured (see Matthew 18:20). Let us not take the presence of God for granted. Let us enter His presence (whether alone or with fellow saints) not as a chore or tedious duty, but as an opportunity to experience the uncommon blessing attached to such divine encounters. Today, let’s embrace God’s presence with gratitude, trusting that His blessings will overflow in our lives as we walk in obedience and joy.
