Romans 12:11
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Beloveds, the word of God this morning admonishes us not to allow spiritual laziness, weariness, and lethargy to overtake us. Rather, we must be hot for God, and fervent in Spirit as we serve the Lord.
That means being intentionally passionate in our worship, prayers, fellowship, giving, reception of preaching, church attendance, and in everything else we do in our walk of faith. Say no to a weak faith. Say no to anaemic worship. Say no to mediocrity in any shape or form.
For instance, when you give a testimony, let your enthusiasm show. When you minister in song, put your heart and soul into it. When you preach, share, or teach the word of God, don’t subdue your passion. Serve God passionately, fervently, and zealously. Always.
