“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Mat. 24:24).
Have you noticed that many genuine people don’t think it can happen to them? They think references to false messiahs, false teachers and false prophets as well as to their deceptive miracles don’t apply to them. Beloved, our Lord says these impostors are so good at what they do that even “the elect”, that is genuine believers, are at risk of being conned! How do genuine people get conned? When they assume that their good intentions, superiority or background make them immune to religious seduction. Let not that be your portion. Now then, how do we safeguard ourselves against deception? Watch this space (tomorrow). Of course, you’re welcome to independently search the Scriptures on the subject.
