“Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh” (James 3:12).

This verse concludes the Apostle James’ corrective on Christians’ abuse of their tongues. The main point is that we must not consider it normal for us to sometimes spill words of blessing and spill curses at other times. It’s NOT ok brethren! According to God’s judgment, it’s absolutely illogical, unreasonable, contradictory and unacceptable for the saints to sometimes speak evil. Let’s not be fooled into accommodating unwholesome language from our godly lips. Let love, wisdom and soundness characterise your speech always. Ask the Holy Spirit to eradicate every negative thought and sin in your heart. Then you won’t spill such via your lips. Hallelujah!
