“Who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice…” (Hebrews 11:33ab).
Yesterday we saw that faith operates at different levels, from the personal, to the corporate to the systemic. Indeed faith has a lot more to do than just the meeting of our personal needs, valid though that may be. Today we see that faith also enforces justice (righteousness). True believers have a keen sense of fair play. They don’t bend the rules for selfish interest. Like Yahweh Tsidkenu, our God of Justice, we too must enforce justice in our families, work, community and church. It takes faith to seek first the Kingdom of God AND His righteousness (Mat 6:33).
