“After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was” (Mat 2:9).
As long as the Eastern wise men sought human help, heaven was silent! As soon as they left Herod, divine guidance resumed. The Lord’s guidance was quite specific and relevant. They needn’t have sought the approval of a double faced king. Neither should we. Even this business of seeking “confirmation” for every word the Spirit gives can be disastrous. Like Herod, some of our consultants say the right things but have ulterior motives. Let saints beware this holy season.
