‘Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”’ (Mat 4:3).

The tempter sought to get Jesus to depend on His Rights, Religion or Reason to make decisions. But our Lord did not fall for that trap! Neither should we. He strictly depended upon God’s Word. Do you think the Son of Man did not quite have sufficient intelligence? Do you think for a second He didn’t have enough “religion”? Wasn’t our Lord aware of His special status (as Son of God)? Why didn’t He bank on all that? Because He came to show us how to live in the same conditions and win all the time. We also win by consciously relying on the Scriptures than on our own rights, religiosity or reason. Dear friend, don’t overestimate your own innate abilities, your own or others’ spiritual experience–rather live sola scriptura, by Scripture alone!
