“Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory” (Mat 4:8).
The third temptation our Lord faced was strong because it afforded a view of the world’s splendour from the top. We know that God often inspires His vision in us by showing us new possibilities. Compare how He shaped Abraham’s faith by showing the patriarch the numerous stars of the sky (Genesis 15:5; 22:17). Now, Satan often imitates and distorts God’s methods in order to inculcate his own vision. Brethren, we must mind what we watch! Some of the media available today is deliberately hatched by the enemy in order to create ungodly ambitions and desires. Some of the books, movies, shows, websites and music in our day are cunningly designed to corrupt and divert us from our core Kingdom business. Don’t fall for that old trick!
