“So she set out and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers, and she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the clan of Elimelech” (Ruth 2:3).

It wasn’t by chance that Ruth found herself in the right field for the right man at the right time. It was a divine appointment. A good reading of the full story makes this quite obvious. When our steps are ordered by the Lord (Ps 37:23), the invisible hand of God links us with open doors nobody can shut. Informed believers don’t talk about luck! They don’t even wish others “luck”. Instead, they speak blessings and life upon each other. That’s the Christian way. How does God feel when we attribute His blessing to someone or something else? Note that the devil has been making concerted efforts to deny God the glory due His name for His creation and in our daily lives. Beloved, our Sovereign Lord is more involved in our lives than we realise! EVERY good and perfect gift we have comes from the Father of lights (James 1:17). Let’s radically declare God’s glory and His blessing. Let’s repent from the sin of denying Him glory and let’s praise Him for every blessing–big or small–He has freely bestowed upon us. Why not count your blessings today?
