“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” (Jo 15:3).
The cleansing power of the Word of God is one of its most valuable attributes in every believer’s walk. It is the means by which we are cleansed from the filthiness of the flesh and spirit (2 Cor. 7:1). Beloved, there are weights and sins that will entangle the feet of every child of God in the race of faith if left unchecked (He 12:1). Burdens and issues threaten to clog the spiritual veins and arteries of every disciple of Christ (Mat 11:28). Vain thoughts and feelings distract the soul of many a devout worshipper (2 Cor. 10:5). Only the anointed spoken Word of Christ can cure our faltering hearts. Only His word in season can excise every malignant growth from our spiritual fabric. Only His Rhema will produce real faith in our sorry hearts (Rom 10:17). When we listen to His voice our inner man is purified. That is why the devil will do all he can to induce apathy towards anointed preaching and teaching. That is why neglecting fellowship with others is not as harmless as many think (He 10:25)! Will you set your heart’s ears to eagerly tune in to Jesus’ instruction, correction and training through His Spirit and His servants? It’s worth it.
