“That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation” (2 Cor. 5:19).

Arguably, the reason why more of our friends and family aren’t saved is the wrong message they’ve received from us and other Christians. Our primary message is reconciliation to God, not alienation and condemnation! Our business is not to remind people that they are sinful and heading straight to hell. Rather, we are in the Ministry of Reconciliation. To reconcile is to cause people or groups to become friendly again after a disagreement or an argument. It means to restore two or more parties to friendship or harmony. God wants to be friends once again with humanity. How marvellous it is that God is not counting the world’s sins against them, because of Jesus’ finished work on Golgotha! If God is not counting the world’s sins against them, why should we? Brethren, let us tell people about the love of God (Jo 3:16). Let’s leave the business of convicting people of their sins to the Holy Spirit (Jo 16:8). Let’s be true ambassadors of reconciliation.
