“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven” (Mat 6:10).
We’ve seen that every child of God is already blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places (Ep 1:3). How to cash in those heavenly blessings in our earthly abode is another matter altogether. Every saint has to learn how to download blessings from the celestial to the terrestrial realms. We learn from the Lord’s Prayer that we achieve this by inviting the will of God that prevails in heaven to also take place on earth. However, we must not leave this principle at a general level. We must apply it in our specific situations and needs.
For instance, when we’re unwell, we must pray that the spiritual blessing of our heavenly health should manifest physically in our bodies here and now. When we’re broke, we invite God’s supernatural abundance in glory to supply our lack here materially. Prayer is therefore largely all about this heaven-earth transfer. I wonder how many of your heavenly blessings await your prayer here on earth!
