The metaphor of a sharp double-edged sword indicates the power of Jesus’ words. Jesus’ words cut clean, penetrate deep and impact mind and spirit, death and life and saint and sinner. (See Pro 18:21; Acts 2:37; John 6:63; Heb. 4:12).
