And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Christ’s possession of the keys of Death also applies to His mission and power to set us free from the principle of sin and death (Rom 8:2). The curse, sin, sickness and disease, poverty, environmental dysfunction, griefs, strife and burdens, and so forth–all these are manifestations of the death principle that followed the Fall (see Gen. 2:17; 3:6-19; Gal. 3:13-14). Praise Him for redeeming us from the curse of the law, and the law of sin and death, now and in the eschaton!
