Matthew 23:13
But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
Only faithful Gospel ambassadors truly help people into the Kingdom of God. Have you ever considered the possibility that you and I, in spite of our professed good intentions, can achieve opposite results to our calling? Can you be humble enough to admit that, like the first century religious leaders, we too can be a barrier to others’ salvation? God forbid!
