Revelation 5:12
Saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing!”
We’ve seen so far that the Lamb of God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is worthy to receive our acknowledgement of His infinite power and riches. Now we focus on His worth to receive our recognition of His wisdom.
Beloved, every time we contradict God’s word on any subject, we deny His wisdom! Every time we lean on our own understanding, we reject His wisdom.
The OT prophet Daniel exemplifies how to appreciate God for His wisdom: “Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his” (Dan 2:20; See also v23).
NT witnesses also acknowledge the wisdom of God: Christ is both the power of God and the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 2:24). To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever (Rom 16:27). Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever (1 Tim 1:17). To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever (Jude 1:25).
When is the last time you appreciated God’s wisdom? Do so today, will you? That’s a wise choice!
