1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. (Emphasis mine)

Another trap which end-time saints face today is the deception of an immoral spirituality. This trickery concerns appreciating the Christian identity, while still preferring to live like sinners. In such cases, believers mistakenly assume that one’s deeds do not affect one’s destiny.

This deception probably emanates from a wrong concept of grace. Such an understanding misconstrues the freeness of God’s grace. Truth is that grace is free but it is not cheap! Our salvation by grace through faith is not a licence to sin but empowerment to live righteously for God (Ep 2:8-10).

Have you noticed that this passage starts and ends with the idea of inheriting the kingdom of God? That’s for emphasis, brethren. Everything we say, think or do must be covered by the goal of inheriting the kingdom of God.

Note also the categorical statement the Bible makes here. In His infinite wisdom the Holy Spirit found it necessary to set the record straight in light of our confusion, compromise and shifting moral standards the world over.

Beloved, God’s Word does not determine morality on the basis of our social conventions or public opinion. We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phi 2:12). Do not be deceived!
