2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

These verses continue the train of thought from the previous verses. What follows is a description of the spiral of doom that inevitably continues to its logical conclusion. Let’s follow the trend closely.

Firstly those who reject the truth of the Gospel are not saved (v10). They reject the truth because they shun the truth in order to enjoy the pleasures of unrighteousness. Their persistent preference for sinful pleasures and disdain for the truth makes them extremely vulnerable to all sorts of delusions. Then their ultimate condemnation is just a matter of course. Their fate is sealed. Lord have mercy!

Please note that the spiral to eternal damnation often starts very simply, unnoticeably and invisibly. The road to perdition begins with a simple step–a decision to disbelieve the truth of God.

Beloved, we cannot afford to doubt, debate or question the plain truth of the Bible. Rather our duty is to trust and obey every truth God’s word reveals to us. That’s the safest and wisest option.
