Haggai 1:5-6
Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: Consider your ways. You have sown much, and harvested little. You eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill. You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm. And he who earns wages does so to put them into a bag with holes.

So far we’ve learnt three results of neglecting the house of God: meagre returns on investment, an insatiable appetite and an unquenchable thirst. Fourthly, when you overlook God’s mission, you will suffer Spiritual Exposure.

Beloved, there’s a dire sense of exposure we experience when we disobey God, as Adam and Eve found out when they fell (Gen. 3:10-11). Disobeying God makes us vulnerable. It removes the divine protective cover over our lives, families and business. It leaves us liable to harm by the elements, attack or other dangers.

“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels” (Isa 61:10).

May you experience the awesome joy, protection and comfort of the garment of salvation, righteousness and glory!
