Hebrews 12:28-29
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”

All over the world today, things are falling apart. Gone are the days when good morals are valued universally. They tell us that everything is relative. They also say one man’s meat is another’s poison. Truth and opinion are mixed up.

Revered institutions are disintegrating. Order is disrupted everywhere. Chaos is the new norm. Global systems are crumbling and confidentiality is hacked willy-nilly. Ancient boundaries are shifted. Federations are coming apart at the seams. Nations that used to be beacons of hope and bastions of strength have become pariah states.

Society is disillusioned with religion and government, entertainment and education, commerce and industry, health and politics. When gold rusts, what will iron do? In short, whatever can be shaken is being shaken (Heb. 12:27). All our false sense of security is exposed for the sham that it is.

“Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever” (Ps 125:1). In times like these, let us hold on to the one thing that cannot be shaken–the Kingdom of God (Heb. 12:28). Let us trust in the Lord with all our hearts. Will you do that today?
