Matthew 22:37
Jesus answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind .’
We will never worship God as we ought until we understand the tripartite nature of man as revealed in Scripture. As the truism goes, “you are a spirit, you have a soul and live in a body”.
Yet we tend to prioritise the body. So our physical senses also tend to take precedence over everything else. Then follows our minds and lastly our spirit. As a result, our spirit-man is drowned out by our flesh.
In order to reverse this trend, we need to restore our spiritual dimension to its rightful place as the command centre of our lives. Only then can we discern the Holy Spirit’s leading through our human spirits.
But it doesn’t work the other way round. The right order is important. Our physical and psychological homage cannot lead the way. When our hearts (spirits) truly love and worship God, our minds and our bodies must and will follow suit.
