Romans 4:17b
God, who quickeneth the dead and calleth those things which are not, as though they were.

The Bible expressly instructs us to be imitators of God as dear children (Ep 5:1). Now, our text above reveals two awesome features of God’s nature, both of which we can imitate in the name of Jesus. However, our focus today is on the second one–the practice of CALLING things which do not exist as though they did.

Beloved, super-victor prayer warriors call things that are not as though they are. You have been told not to “build castles in the air”, meaning don’t let your imagination run wild through daydreaming. However, spiritually speaking, we must imitate God by actually calling things that do not exist as though they do. That’s what faith is all about. It is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1). We must believe, speak out and receive our blessings, breakthroughs and miracles before they manifest.

Beloved, sometimes our problem is that we pray asking God to do certain things when He expects us to exercise the authority He gave us in His name:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” (Mark 11:23).

That is praying from a dominion position and mentality. We are not beggars but kings and priests through Christ. We reign in life in the name of Jesus. We call things that are not as though they are. Let’s do that now. Take charge and authority over situations and circumstances. Call favour, healing, goodwill, prosperity, souls, revelation, success, promotion, holiness, houses, spiritual growth, opportunities…whatever God’s Word says you can have. Your call!
