Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18

No individual, family, church, nation or organisation can be successful or significant without a clear vision. In fact, the Bible boldly says that without it people perish. Another version says visionless people lose restraint. That means they lack discipline. So they fall for anything. That’s a recipe for chaos.

For instance, possessing a vision enabled Joseph to overcome temptation and sin. His sense of clarity about where God was taking him made him refuse to compromise his integrity. In good times and bad times, in Potiphar’s house and in prison-Joseph’s life was the epitome of self-control. No amount of favour, betrayal, mockery, jealousy, injustice, delay or disappointment could ruin his sense of purpose.

I plead with you by the grace of God to make time to discern your vision. It is your responsibility to find your dream or vision. I’m not talking about your strategy here. You see, so many people have loads of strategies, but have no vision. That is putting the cart before the horse! You need to define WHERE you are going (vision) before deciding HOW to get there (strategy).

Note that the accomplishment of a dream depends on its clarity. Vision clarity precedes strategy. You have to define it before you pursue it. To hit a target, you must identify it first. On the other hand, you may have had a vision previously, but it has leaked. If so, it’s time to revisit it. Time to “revision”. This applies on a personal as well as on a corporate level. My dear friend, is your dream in focus? Is it clear enough? Let it be. Lest you perish! That’s not God’s will for you.
