Matthew 4:19
Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Jesus cannot fashion us into the product we should become if we don’t follow Him. Only He has the blueprint of what we should become. Only He knows your true destiny. Only He knows the plans He has for you. You will never fulfil your truest potential without following Jesus.
Like the fishermen businessmen in our text today, we may experience a measure of success on our own. But it’s only a lesser substitute. Our greatest, truest and most meaningful success is only found in submitting to the leadership of Jesus Christ over our lives. Nowhere else!
By the way, Bible Seminaries cannot shape you into the kind of vessel God wants you to be. Joining a church doesn’t make you a true disciple. Only Jesus can shape you into a fisher of men, that is someone skilled in rescuing people from the ocean of sin, darkness and evil. Let us henceforth recommit ourselves to following Jesus intentionally, unreservedly and consistently.
